The MY PATH Process

free initial consultation

The “MY PATH Process” starts with the free initial consultation. This is where you will meet your MY PATH coach and get answers to all your questions. At this initial meeting, you will learn all about what MY PATH has to offer. You will also be introduced to the concept of the “MY PATH Action Plan” which is the driving force behind all that we do. After the free initial meeting, we can schedule your Intake Meeting and get started down the path to success.

The intake meeting

Each client will go through the intake process and initial interview.  This will consist of a 1 on 1 interview with the client as well as interviews with parents, family members or whomever necessary to get a comprehensive view of the client.  The intake process would identify strengths, weaknesses and roadblocks which are preventing the client from being successfully employed or achieving their goals. After the intake process, a “MY PATH Action Plan” would be generated detailing a comprehensive plan designed to meet the goals of the client.

The “my path action plan”

The “MY PATH Action Plan” is a comprehensive and evolving document detailing the steps necessary for a client to accomplish goals. It is the driving force behind what client and coach will work on at their meetings. It will detail the specific long term goals the client would like to achieve, as well as short term goals which will help the client reach these long term goals. Through the “MY PATH Action Plan” the client, and the client’s loved ones, will be given a clear and concrete path to success. Once the “MY PATH Action Plan” is created, the hard work begins. As the client and their coach meet, the “MY PATH Action Plan” will dictate what they are working on and working towards. At any time, the Action Plan can be tweaked as needed. The “MY PATH Action Plan” and all documents related to coaching will be housed in each client’s personal Google Drive Account. That way, the client and coach will have access to all necessary documents. Ideally, the client will take ownership of the MY PATH Action Plan and all documents associated with it. This sense of ownership will become a point of pride as the client completes the steps and progress towards reaching his or her goals.

Scheduled Meetings

Once the Action Plan is created, client and coach will work to schedule meetings and begin to progress on the outlined goals. At these meetings, coach and the client will work together to understand the goals and how they will be accomplished. This time will also be used to get to know one another and further develop the client/coach relationship. This is an important aspect of the MY PATH Process. The coach wants to know how the client best operates, what his or her strengths and weaknesses are, where interests lie and other factors which will help the client accomplish goals. Understanding and knowing the client will also be very important when the coach is talking with employment managers and hiring directors. Being able to highlight a clients’s strengths and present solutions to potential barriers is crucial. We want the client to feel comfortable with the coach so he or she can freely come with questions, concerns and successes! The client will leave these meetings with tasks to be completed prior to the next meeting. This could be filling out applications, researching careers, or building a personal network.

Training Locations

A great aspect of the MY PATH mission is its flexibility! We are willing to come to you or meet somewhere in the middle. We want to hold meetings and training sessions in a location that will be most comfortable and productive to the client. The training location does not have to stay the same. In fact, the training does not even have to be in person. If the weather makes it difficult to meet in person, the client and coach will connect digitally over Skype or any similar service. Training locations could include, but are not limited to:

  • In the client’s home

  • Coffee shops or restaurants

  • Libraries

  • Community centers

  • MY PATH Office

  • Anywhere there is an internet connection and a willingness to be productive
