College Planning Series

Join My Path Employment Specialist, Megan Hipsher, for our college planning series seminars and workshops. Megan is a Licensed School Counselor and former College & Career Counselor of over 15 years. She will provide information, relevant resources, and tips to help families and students plan and prepare for college.
We will explore, research, and if your student is ready, even apply! Your student will walk away after 4-weeks with resources, confidence, and many items checked off of their to-do list! This workshop will be in-person, with the location based on interest. It is forstudents and will be most helpful for junior or senior students.
Dates/location for courses will be determined based on interest.

PEERS Social Skills Class
Complete the interest form for My Path's Social Skills Class, coming soon to new locations near the Twin Cities! This course will use the PEERS curriculum, which is a research and evidence based program developed at UCLA.
My Path will contact you with dates & details once the course is confirmed, based on interest.
The program teaches young adults conversation and friendship skills through lessons, role-play demonstration, and socialization activities.
Participants will learn:
Use appropriate conversational skills
Use humor appropriately
Use electronic communication
Find friendships

Road Ready - Drivers Permit Prep Training Program
This is My Path’s Permit Prep Program.
A My Path Employment Specialist will help participants prepare for the MN Driver’s Permit Test.
My Path understands that this test can make people very nervous! That’s why we work on content knowledge, test taking strategies, and building confidence.
Employment Specialists can assist participants in scheduling your permit test at the DMV.

Cashier Register Training
This course is for any person with disabilities who wish to gain some cash register skills for a future or current job. You’ll learn all of the skills needed through repetition and all in a safe, caring environment.
Course location to be detemined by interest, so reach out today!
You will learn how to:
operate the register
scan items
bag items
work with customers
take a credit card payment
count money and make change
handle different situations and scenarios

PEERS Social Skills Training: Conversation & Friendship in Bloomington MN
Bloomington, Minnesota
This is an evidence-based social skills program developed at UCLA and now being taught by My Path specialists. The program teaches young adults conversation and friendship skills through lessons, role-play demonstration, and socialization activities.
Participants will learn these skills during a 6-week course:
Use appropriate conversational skills
Use humor appropriately
Use electronic communication
Find friendships

My Path invites current & prospective clients, families, and community business partners, to an appreciation event at the Minnesota Transportation (Train) Museum!

MY PATH: Ready To Work!
The Ready to Work sessions will be held at the Chanhassen Community Center.
This is a 4-week course that meets once a week for 1 hour.
Cost is $100 for all 4 classes, or $25/class.
Current meeting dates are Wednesdays April 2nd, 9th, 16th, & 23rd
